IT leadership for growing companies

A director when you need one. An engineer when you don't.

Covantage Solutions works with owners who have outgrown break-fix IT but do not need a full-time technology executive. Engage a fractional IT director on retainer, or bring in general consulting by the hour.

Two ways to work

Same person either way. The retainer is ongoing leadership. Hourly work is a defined problem with a beginning and an end.

Fractional IT director

Monthly retainer

  • Technology priorities, vendor oversight, and a practical security baseline.
  • Budget, licensing, and project decisions explained in plain language.
  • A standing point of contact for your staff and your existing IT vendors.
  • Scoped so it is leadership, not a 24/7 help desk.

General consulting

Hourly

  • Assessments, migrations, Microsoft 365, networking, and cleanup projects.
  • A written scope before work starts, then time billed against that scope.
  • Useful when you need a senior set of hands and not a monthly seat.
  • Can stand alone, or sit beside a retainer when a project runs long.

Who this is for

Companies with real operations and a technology stack that has become someone else's side job. Often a contractor, a professional firm, or a multi-site business whose last IT person was a vendor ticket queue.

Based in Texas. Work is remote, with on-site time when the problem is in the building.

  • First conversation What is breaking, what is coming due, and whether a retainer or a project is the fit.
  • Scope in writing What is included, what is hourly, and what waits.
  • Then the work Decisions, documentation, and vendors pointed in the same direction.

About

Jared Abraham

I have spent more than twenty years in business technology, most recently as an IT director for a commercial contractor. Covantage is that same work, offered to companies that need a director without hiring one.

On a retainer I set priorities, watch the vendors, and keep security and spending understandable. By the hour I take a defined job: a migration, an assessment, a mess that needs a senior person for a few weeks. Either way you are talking to the person who does the work.
